1) Photos of a thief A thief was wanted in a big city. When he was finally caught, the photographer took pictures of him at the police station - from the front, from the right, from the left, with a hat, without a hat. But the thief managed to escape again. His description was sent to all police stations in the country. A week later, the phone rang in the big city’s police station and someone asked whether they might be looking for a Peter Miller. The policeman on the phone gave an affirmative reply. This someone further reported that in his city, in Lastvillage, the wanted had just arrived by train. Lastvillage was a small town, one hundred and fifty kilometres from the larger city. The police immediately sent four different photographs of the thief to the police in Lastvillage. Less than twelve hours later, they received a call from the police in Lastvillage. "We have caught three of the men," a voice said cheerfully, "and we'll catch the fourth tonight, we are sure."
