Lesson 241

1) Five euros Three people walked down a street, first a tall man, then a pretty woman, and at the end an old man. The first two walked around a corner. Suddenly the old gentleman noticed a piece of paper on the floor. He picked it up. It was a five euro banknote. A few seconds later, the young woman came back crying because she had lost five euros. The kind-hearted old man showed her what he had found and gave it to her. The young woman thanked him and left. After a few seconds, the tall man came back looking for something. Suddenly a window opened and a small man looked out. "I saw five euros falling out of your pocket," he said, "but the old man gave it to a young woman." The tall man seemed to be very angry. The poor, old gentleman was scared and gave him five euros. When the old man had left, the young woman came back to receive her one euro sixty-seven cents, and the small man came out of the house to get his money.
