Lesson 258

2) Her husband Mrs Miller was still busy cleaning the house when her husband returned from work. She wore old clothes and no stockings, her hair was not washed, but dishevelled and in disorder, she had dust on her face and looked dirty and tired. Her husband looked at her and said, "Is it that what I come home for after a hard day's work?" Mrs Miller's neighbour, Mrs Smith, was also present. When she heard Mr Miller's words, quickly saying goodbye she ran back to her house. Then she washed, brushed and combed her hair carefully, put on her most beautiful dress and her best stockings, put on make-up waiting for her husband to come home. When he arrived, he was hot and tired. He walked slowly into the house, saw his wife and stopped. Then he shouted angrily, "And where are you going tonight?"
