Lesson 320

The students / pupils sit on a bench and the teacher stands in front of the blackboard. The teacher gives lessons / lectures and the students take lessons. 3) Not a very good student Tom was sixteen years old and not very good at school. He always sat on a bench far in the back of the class and often fell asleep during lessons because of staying up late every night. One of the teachers was Mrs Smith. One day during class, Tom was sleeping again, and she went to his bench to wake him up. "You can sleep during my lessons, Tom," she said to him, "but please say ‘good night’ to me." On another day, Tom arrived at school very late, and Mrs Smith said to him, "Why are you late, Tom?" "I did not wake up in time," Tom replied. "Oh," said Mrs Smith, "Do you sleep at home too?"
