Lesson 286

Two countries fight against each other. This is a war. In a war two armies fight against each other. The people in an army are soldiers. An officer tells the soldiers what to do. Soldiers serve in the army. (He serves as a soldier.) Teachers work in a school. (He works as a teacher.) A man in the army is first a soldier and then he becomes officer. = He is promoted to officer. Water is wet. In summer, I walk in the forest, I carry my small house with me. This is a tent. Many houses, this is a city. (Paris is a city.) Many tents, this is a camp.
