Then Mrs Miller's old friend, Mrs Smith, came to see her. Mrs Smith walking around in the house with Mrs Miller was surprised, because there were bells on the walls of each room. She asked Mrs Miller why she had all those bells in her house. Mrs Miller replied, "Fifty years ago, ladies and gentlemen had servants, the ladies and gentlemen rang the bells in the rooms, and then the servants came out of the kitchen to the rooms to serve them. But now everything is different, I work in the kitchen, and sometimes ring the bells in the rooms for my husband or children to come and help me."
