2) The secret of a happy
married life
A man explained the
secret of his satisfied married life to one of his friends. "My wife
makes all the small decisions," he said, "and I make all the big
decisions. So we never interfere with each other's business and never get
annoyed. We have no complaints and no arguments." "That sounds
reasonable," his friend replied sympathetically. "And what kind of
decisions does your wife make?" "Well," the man replied,
"she decides what kind of job I apply for, what kind of house we live
in, what furniture we have, where we go on holiday, and stuff like
that." His friend was surprised, "oh," he said, "and what
do you think are important decisions?" "Well," the man
replied, "I decide who should be the head of government, whether we
should increase our financial aid to poor countries, what we should do about
the atomic bomb, and things like that."
