Lesson 352

3) Copies A clerk working in a small office at a company found that there were so many files in his office that there was no room for any more. Additionally, each file was so full that no more papers could be added. He knew he needed to find room for several hundred papers every week, so something had to be done about it. He thought for a long time and then decided to send his superior a message explaining what had happened and to ask him for permission to go through the old files and take out and destroy all the letters which were no longer of any use. The next day he received an answer from his superior. It read as follows: "All right, you have permission to do as you suggest, but you must make copies of all letters and papers before destroying them."
