4) The thief

Mr Miller had a nice shop in the main street of a small town. He sold jewellery, watches and things like that. Everything went well for a few years, and then within two months, Mr Miller's shop was broken in at night twice, and a lot of jewellery was stolen each time. Three weeks later, the police had still not managed to catch the thief, so Mr Miller decided to do something about it himself. He bought a camera, fixed it in his shop so it could take photos of anyone breaking in at night, and put out some cheap jewellery in the shop window for the thief. A few nights later, the thief returned. But he did not touch any of the cheap pieces of jewellery Mr Miller had laid out for him. He took the camera. It was worth a hundred and fifty euros.
