5)
Apple
Mrs
Miller had two sons. One morning on vacation, as she was doing the laundry
for the family, her younger son came and asked for some money for sweets.
That was bad for his teeth, Mrs Miller told him and instead offered him two
apples, one of which he should give to his elder brother. One of the apples
was much larger than the other, and as the little boy liked apples, he kept
the bigger one for himself and gave the smaller one to his brother. When the
older boy saw that his brother had a much larger apple, he said to him,
"It's selfish to keep the bigger one for yourself. If mother had given
me the apples, I would have given you the bigger one." "I know you
would," replied his brother. "That's why I took it."
