5) Leftovers
A young mother believed it to be very wrong throwing away food when there were so many hungry people on Earth. One day she gave her little daughter her evening tea before putting her to bed. At first, she handed her a piece of fresh black bread and butter, but the child said that she didn't want it like that and asked for some jam on her bread. Her mother looked at her for a few seconds and then said, "when I was a little girl like you, Susan, I always got either bread and butter or bread and jam, but never bread and butter and jam." Susan looked at her mother for a few moments with pity in her eyes and then said gently to her, "aren't you happy that you are living with us now?"
