1)
The potato farmer
A
potato farmer was sent to jail at the time when he should have ploughed the
fields for planting the new potato seed. He knew that his wife would not be
strong enough to do the ploughing alone, but that she could do the planting.
And he also knew that he had no friends or neighbours willing to do the
ploughing for him. Therefore, he wrote his wife a letter saying that she
should not plough the potato field because he had hidden the money and the
gun there. Ten days later, he received a letter from his wife saying, "I
think someone reads your letters before they go out of the prison. Some
policemen arrived here two days ago and ploughed up the whole potato field.
What should I do now?" The prisoner wrote back immediately: "Of
course, plant the potatoes!"

5)
Too fast
A
man driving his car very fast on the highway was forced to stop by a
policeman on a motorcycle. The police officer said that the man was driving
faster than eighty kilometres an hour, although he was only allowed to do
eighty kilometres an hour. The man having to go to court told the judge there
that he had not driven eighty kilometres an hour and never drove more than
sixty-five. The husband's wife also being present said that her husband had
not driven more than fifty when the policeman stopped them. The woman's
sister, also being there, said they had barely moved forward when the police
officer appeared behind them. However, until then the judge had had quite
enough. "Stop it!" He said, "otherwise you will hit the car
behind you."

4)
A real friend
A
man met a friend on the street and he asked him to lend him five euros, what
the man did willingly. A week later them meeting again, the friend told him
that he had already lent him five euros and whether he could lend him another
five euros. The man did it again. A few days later, them meeting again the
friend once more asked him to lend him another ten euros, so that he would
owe him twenty euros. The man did it, despite the fact that he was rather
doubtful about doing it. Two weeks later, the friend once again asked for
money; "You have already lent me twenty euros. Can you make it
fifty?" For a few moments, the man didn’t answer, but he was unable to
refuse the request. One month later by chance, meeting again on the street
the friend started: "You have already lent me fifty euros ......" "Who?
Me?" The man replied in alarm," I deny having lent you any money at
all."

3)
At the sea
Some
friends had rented a bus to spend a day at the seaside. Getting back to the
bus in the evening, they saw someone lying on the ground next to the vehicle.
Inspecting him more closely they found that him being a resident of their
city, had certainly not come on their bus. He was very drunk. They thought
him having come on another bus and missed it because he was very drunk and so
he had found their bus to travel home. Two men carried him into the bus. Not
waking up during the trip back, they also took him home when they arrived at
their city as he was still very drunk. Them having knocked on his door for a
few minutes, one of his neighbours opened the window and said, "There is
no point in knocking there. They drove to the sea for two weeks."

2)
A little son
Having
a little son named Billy, Mrs Miller loved him very much. However, him not
being a strong child she was always afraid that he could get sick. Therefore,
she took him to the doctor four times a year to have him examined. During one
of these visits, the doctor giving Billy various tests asked the boy whether
he had recently had any problems with his nose and ears. Billy having thought
for a moment gave an affirmative answer. Mrs Miller was very scared.
"Really?" asked the doctor, "And what kind of complaints did
you have? My boy!" "I always have trouble with them when I take my
jersey off because the collar is too tight."
